The theme of the Vilapensa 25 edition, Jo Trencat (“Broken Self”), explores the fragmentation of being—those moments when we break in order to discover what lies within. For this concept, stone was chosen as the central metaphor: a primal and enduring element, symbolizing the essence that constitutes us. When a stone breaks, it reveals its fractures and inner layers, uncovering unexpected beauty within what first appears as rupture. The visual identity for this edition revolved around a suspended stone, floating in space as an emblem of both solidity and transformation. Its graphic treatment maintained the visual language of previous editions but evolved into a fully monochromatic palette, emphasizing an alchemical and timeless essence. Subtle chiaroscuro backgrounds supported the composition, evoking mystery and introspection. This approach framed Jo Trencat not only as an aesthetic proposition but as an emotional and symbolic reflection: vulnerability as a path to self-discovery, and the intrinsic beauty found in imperfections. The result is a flexible and modern visual system capable of connecting with audiences through both emotional resonance and conceptual clarity.
